All eligible youth members and all adults are registered members of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital.All standards and guidelines as stated in Volunteer Essentials and the Safety Activity Checkpoints will be adhered to.Parental Permissions have been received for all youth participants, and Health History & Emergency Medical Authorization have been received for all youth participants.Appropriate youth/adult ratios will be met.All high adventure & chartered transportation vendors are on Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital Approved Vendor List. If this is an international trip, research has been done to ensure the safety of high adventure and chartered transportation vendors.All high adventure activities have certified facilitators in charge as required in Safety Activity Checkpoints.An adult-in-charge will have a completed Field Trip packet with them at all times during the trip (a completed Field Trip packet includes health history forms, emergency action plan, insurance claim form, and the phone numbers of the council office & emergency answering service).Current First Aiders will be on site as required, and the location and phone number of the nearest hospital will be readily available.Emergency procedures have been developed and discussed with all participants.All participating adults will have the phone numbers of the council office (202-237-1670) and emergency answering service (888-288-1784) readily available.

Notarized minor travel consent forms have been obtained for all traveling youth.At least one adult has confirmed that their phone will work abroad.
