2026 Sleep-Away Camp Early Camper Placement Process Logo
  • 2026 Sleep-Away Camp Early Camper Placement Process

Note: This process was formerly referred to as a lottery during past camp registration periods.
  •  PLEASE REVIEW THIS INFORMATION IN FULL BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM:

    1. PROGRAM SELECTION IS BASED ON YOUR CAMPER'S CURRENT GRADE FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR (i.e. THE GRADE YOUR CAMPER IS IN RIGHT NOW AS YOU FILL OUT THIS FORM)
    2. Girl Scout Membership: This early camper placement process is designed for youth with active Girl Scout memberships whose primary Council is Girl Scouts Nation's Capital. Campers MUST have a current 2025-2026 Girl Scouts Nation's Capital membership to be considered in the first round of placements. Please note that memberships are non-refundable.
      • Out of Council Campers: If Nation's Capital is not your primary Council, you are welcome to enter a submission in the early camper placement process and will be placed, if space permits, after all Nation's Capital members have been placed. An active 2025-2026 membership is required for ANY Girl Scout placed in a program.
    3. Early Camper Placement Process Open Dates: Submissions will be accepted from 10:00AM on Monday, December 15, 2025 to 11:59 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026.
    4. Submissions: All entries submitted during that time will have an equal chance at placement. This is NOT a "first come, first served" process. Completing this form DOES NOT guarantee placement. It does NOT matter if you submit an entry at 10 AM on December 15th or if you submit an entry at 11:55 PM on January 5th. We encourage you to submit your camper's entry at a time that is convenient for you while the process is open.
    5. Payment: This form DOES NOT collect payment. There is no cost to submit entry into the learly camper placement process.
    6. Number of Entries: Each Girl Scout (youth) may submit an entry once. Each entry allows the Girl Scout to select their top choices. View our program grid here.
    7. Multiple Submissions: If multiple submissions are received for the same Girl Scout we will accept only the latest submission received-- earlier submissions will be discarded.
    8. Buddies: Please only list 1 (one) buddy. We will do our absolute best to place buddies together, but buddy groups of 3 or more will NOT be placed together, and buddy placement in general is not guaranteed. If we do not receive a submission for your camper's buddy, or your camper's buddy does not list you as their buddy, the two of them will not be placed together. If your camper has a sibling close in age that they would like to be placed in the same program with, please list them as a buddy, NOT a sibling.
    9. Siblings: If we do not receive a submission for your camper's sibling(s) or if they are not listed on each other's entries, they will not be placed together. There is no guarantee that siblings will be placed together, but we will do our absolute best. If your camper has a sibling close in age that they would like to be placed in the same program with, please list them as a buddy, NOT a sibling.
    10. Placement Result Notifications: Entries will be randomly selected for programs between January 6th and January 11th. Notification of the placement results will be emailed to the email address of primary caregiver (see below) by Monday, January 12, 2026.
      • If you do not receive a notification email by 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, it is your responsibility to contact us at councilcare@gscnc.org and ask that the email be retransmitted.
    11. Successful Placement: For those who are placed in a program, the email will include a link to accept your space by providing your deposit. If you do not pay the $25.00 deposit by 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 20th, your Girl Scout's spot will not be guaranteed and will be available during general registration for anyone to register.
    12. Non-Placement: For those who could not be placed, general registration will open on Tuesday, January 20th at 10:00AM and all available and unclaimed spots will be available for everyone to register. We will not have a wait list or have early registration for non-placed campers.
    13. General Registration: First-come first-served registration for remaining spaces opens on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:00AM.
    14. Submisson Entry Confirmation Email: After submitting this form you will receive a confirmation email from noreply@jotform.com.  Please make sure your email address below is correct.
    15. Other Camp Programs: Me and My Pal and CIT programs will each have their own separate placement processes and you will not see those options listed within this main process. This early camper placement process will not hinder placement in a CIT or Me and My Pal program.

    NEW THIS YEAR:

    • If requested, and if space permits, a camper can be placed in a SECOND program during the early camper placement process. You will still only be providing up to your top 6 choices, so take the dates into account (i.e. don't request 6 from the same session because your camper can't be in two places at once).
    • If a second placement is requested:
      • Buddy and sibling requests will not be honored for the second request-- If your camper needs to attend with a buddy or sibling, only try for one placement and then register for additional programs when general registration opens.
      • You will receive two placement notification emails on January 12th.

    Questions? Email councilcare@gscnc.org

  • Please note: comcast.net email addresses do not receive a confirmation email after submitting the form. If you have an alternate email address, please use it for this form.

  • PLEASE ensure that you enter your Girl Scout's name below!  (Make sure autofill doesn't enter mom or dad's name!)

  • PROGRAM SELECTION IS BASED ON YOUR CAMPER'S CURRENT 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR GRADE. YOU WILL ONLY SEE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO THE GRADE LEVEL YOUR CAMPER IS IN RIGHT NOW AS YOU COMPLETE THIS FORM.

  • Pre-Check Your Girl Scout's Membership!

Enter your Girl Scout's membership ID and push the button.  Look at the information that is pre-populated.  If it's correct, you can feel confident that your Girl Scout has a valid membership with their Primary Council as the Girl Scouts Nation's Capital.

Please note that these fields are read only fields - you can NOT edit them.

If your information can not be found via the pre-check, you'll be asked to provide more information so that we can manually verify your information.

Need help locating the Member ID? Click here for instructions.

The pre-check data was downloaded from MyGS on December 15, 2025 at 6:00am.  If you've become a member or updated your account after that time the changes will not be reflected below and you can proceed past this step.

  • These fields are read only fields - you can NOT edit them.

You entered the name:  {shortText} as your Girl Scout's first name above.  It should match the pre-check below.

  • We'll need a little more information so we can verify your Girl Scout's membership.

  • Early Camper Placement Process Selection

  • Programs are ordered by camp (May Flather, Potomac Woods, Winona) and then by date (session 1 programs are first and session 8 programs are last).

    • Number of Entries: Each Girl Scout (youth) may enter the placement process once. Each entry allows the Girl Scout to select their top choices. View our program grid here. DO NOT select the same option for multiple ranked choices, and ONLY select camps your camper would be able to attend or want to attend. The more flexibility you have or the more programs you select for your camper, the better your chance is of receiving a placement in camp. We are unable to tell you what the likelihood is of your camper getting into a specific program.
    • Multiple Submissions: If multiple submissions are received for the same Girl Scout we will accept only the latest submission -- earlier submissions will be discarded.
    • Buddies: Placement with buddies or within a specific program is NOT guaranteed. Please only list 1 (one) buddy. We will do our absolute best to place buddies together, but buddy groups of 3 or more will NOT be placed together. If we do not receive a submission for your camper's buddy, or your camper's buddy does not list you as their buddy, the two of them will not be placed together. You must have the same ranked selections as your buddy. If your camper has a sibling close in age that they would like to be placed in the same program with, please list them as a buddy, NOT a sibling. Example: Buddy 1 selects Action Adventure 3: June 23-28 at May Flather for $780 as their first choice, so Buddy 2 must also select Action Adventure 3: June 23-28 at May Flather for $780 as their first choice.
    • Siblings: Placement with siblings or within a specific program is NOT guaranteed. If we do not receive a submission for your camper's sibling(s) or if they are not listed on each other's entries, they will not be placed together. There is no guarantee that siblings will be placed together, but we will do our absolute best. Siblings must have program selections for each choice that are happening during the same week. Example: Sibling 1 selects a session 2 program for their first choice, a session 7 program as their second choice, and a session 5 program for their third choice. Sibling 2 MUST select a session 2 program as their first choice, a session 7 program as their second choice, and a session 5 program for their third choice.

  • Girl Scout Promise Fund Information

    Camp Scholarships available!
  • We believe Girl Scouts is for everyone! The Girl Scout Promise Fund helps remove financial barriers so all girls can enjoy the full range of Girl Scout experiences. This fund can support attendance at summer sleep-away camp by offering reduced rate, or even covering the full cost.

NEW THIS YEAR: If you need the Girl Scout Promise Fund to cover your camper’s Sleep-Away Camp registration IN FULL, please indicate that below. If your camper is placed during the early placement process, you will receive a code with your placement notification. You’ll use this code when registering after January 5 to have the entire camp fee covered.

If you only need part of the fee covered, you’ll receive a link in your confirmation email after registering for the camp program (after January 5th). That link will allow you to request a camp scholarship to help cover the cost. If you do not request full coverage now and then your circumstances change, you will still be able to request a 100% camp scholarship at a later time.
