A Deep Dive into the Higher Awards
This workshop is designed for troop leaders, volunteers, and caregivers who want to fully understand the Girl Scout Higher Awards—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. We'll walk through each award's requirements - including the new leadership awards, project guidelines, timelines, and adult roles in supporting Girl Scouts through the process. You'll leave with the tools and confidence to mentor youth through meaningful, girl scout-led projects that create lasting change in their communities.
AI Patch Program with our Partner, Booz Allen
Learn about the new Artificial Intelligence patch program collaboration between GSCNC and Booz Allen. The program is geared towards Cadette aged Girl Scouts and includes four modules: AI 101, AI and Human Connections, Generative AI & Prompting, and AI Ethics and Security.
Association Chair Roundtable
New to the role of Assn Chairperson or an experienced chairperson? Part of the Association team or looking to learn about it? Either way, come spend some time together learning about the vital role associations have to play in supporting Service Units. We'll share best practices, challenges, and ideas for Association Passport action items and possible Association events.
Every Girl Scout Belongs: Practical Tools for Building Inclusive Girl Scout Troops
What does inclusion actually look like in a Girl Scout troop? This interactive session equips troop leaders and service unit managers with practical tools to create welcoming, accessible, and culturally responsive experiences where every Girl Scout can participate, contribute, and feel a sense of belonging. Participants will explore common inclusion challenges, practice responding to real-world scenarios, and leave with conversation tools, troop activities, and resources they can use throughout the Girl Scout year.
Girl Scout Experience Box & New Leader Experience
Come learn about the free GSUSA program, the Girl Scout Experience Boxes while reviewing previous survey results about how it affects a new leader’s first year. Join us in discussion on how Service Units can support troops through the program and how to support troops after the program. Leave with an understanding of the program details, eligibility, and new ideas about engaging new volunteers in your Girl Scout Community.
Service Unit Manager Training
Ready to grow your Service Unit and strengthen your leadership? The Service Unit Manager (SUM) Live Session is the second part of the required SUM training in gsLearn. This interactive session will give you the opportunity to build on what you learned in the online portion. During this session, you will:
--Develop goals and strategies to strengthen your Service Unit.
--Explore ways to build belonging and community among volunteers and families.
--Practice key aspects of the Service Unit Manager role through discussion and activities.
Succession Planning for SU Health
This workshop will provide SU Health participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to effectively plan for leadership transitions and ensure long-term organizational success. Participants will explore the importance of identifying and developing future leaders, documenting critical roles and responsibilities, transferring institutional knowledge, and creating a structured succession plan. The session will emphasize leadership development, continuity, mentorship, and preparedness, helping participants understand how succession planning can strengthen teams and organizations while minimizing disruptions when leadership roles change.
